Both parties are culpable for our decent into Hungarian-styled porkbarrelling. But the onus is on Labor now, both to educate itself re money markets, and to reverse these cuts. The media also needs to end the honeymoon, Crikey esp.

Please, please, Kev, absolve us of this Costello-imposed annual scourge of tiny tax cuts for most of us, and largesse for the wealthy, while our schools and hospitals suffer in supplicant penury. Please break your promise - you will be forgiven!

Only tax sponging left could call tax cuts a waste of money. As most of left’s vanguard lives off taxes paid by others, they do not see taxes as money taken from them but merely money taken from others that will be channelled to them in the public sector.
