John Carroll regurgitates the Bush administration's 'war on terror' concoction as a given. The supposed war on terror is in fact a war on anyone who dares challenge the US's right to do as it pleases internationally e.g the Middle East

Small but critical error regarding Muslim immigration. Australia has not succeeded in intergating the Muslim community any better than Europe, it's just that Muslim numbers here have not reached the millions in Europe, or France that stopped counting.

To say that the Madrid bombings occurred in spite of an anti-American government is simply false. The Aznar government was strongly pro-American and pro-Iraq invasion. That's the most likely reason they were bundled out of office shortly thereafter.

Seconding Frank ... Aznar, like JH, dragged his country into Iraq despite the express wishes of the majority of his citizens. When the bombs hit, he tried to blame ETA. The Spaniards promptly voted him out, and Zapatero withdrew the troops immediately.
