Why keep Phillip Ruddock? His response apropos refugee children incarcerated in razor wire camps was that it was their parents’ fault! Clearly a man without integrity or conscience. A Tampa hero, but no national treasure or asset to a party in chaos.

I am unsure of what you mean by the phrase, “A great legacy..”. Apart from introducing GST I cannot recall any great acts that would form part of Howards legacy.
I’m sure he wouldnt include invading IRAQ for all the wrong reasons as part of his legacy

An assessment that Howard’s loss and relative devastation of the Liberal Party is a mere “blemish”. That is far too kind. I think we should remember him as a fairly slim volume between the racist book ends of P Hanson and J Kelly.

So the reason for the Ruddslide was a country that ‘just wanted change’. Brilliant! Many people view Howard as a devious, deceitful, callous man with personal ambition the main driver. He was unwilling to accept responsibility until his farewell speech!
