An ominous indicator of a new (or old in new clothes) politics of thought control in Australia, replete with the same sectional, petty, exclusionary approaches to democratic representation that drove progressive activists mad under Howard.

What a load of crap. The only thing NZ has to show for signing this 'protocol' is an estimated $4.2B in liability by 2012. That's $1,000 for every person in NZ. I can't believe that you want the same for Australians.

First-rate analysis of the likely international enthusiasm for Rudd at Bali, and of the domestic lobbies in Australia for and against real greenhouse policy reform starting now. But it won't be so easy for Rudd to use Bali to force the pace at home.
