Paul Kelly said it but then did the oposite in every article and comment he has done. A true believer, albeit a cunnig & subtle one. If media was as fair & intelligent as it thinks it is, Labor would probably never win government. Journo's union effect!

David,

Don’t be too disappointed that your man Howard has been comprehensively out campaigned this time around. That he chose appear on Rove instead of Insiders tells you that he is well aware of who he needs to get to vote for him this Saturday. You should not assume that just because you and me and handful of other ‘political tragics’ watch Insiders that the program is relevant to the overall election outcome. Far from it; most of the people watching Insiders have firmly entrenched political biases. Your man Howard has failed to read the pulse of the electorate this time around. Give him credit for doing so over a long and colourful political career but at least acknowledge that this time round you have backed the wrong man.

The funny thing is, David's right. The media's kindergarten view of politics as a Manichaean schoolyard brawl lends itself to side-taking, and sophisticated, balanced analysis goes out the window. I vote 1 Greens, 2 Socialist Alliance, by the way.

Hilarious piece, magnificently ignoring reality. For "real scrutiny" read "why haven't they made a fuss about stuff I think would hurt him?". David, why not more about Howard on rorts - "I think we made correct decisions"!. And why was the PM not on Rove?

The media's reputation for impartiality has been damaged in this election. It is rare for me to subscribe to a conservative like Flint's views but the media's treatment of the ALP compared to Howard has been biased. They are isolated from the real world.

David your bias shows no bounds. Incredible stuff really. Sometimes I wonder what planet you are on, at other times what century you think you are living in. But don't stop, it is good for a laugh.

David, what a pity you no longer head the Australian Press Council. If you were you could give all those terribly biased, lazy journalists a jolly good spanking. That would have a salutary effect on all concerned.
