Latham would really know about polls and winning elections, he would have to go down in history as Labors most incompetent campaigner and electoral strategist. Perhaps Rudd could employ him as an adviser on how not to win campaigns.

Is it possible that Howard has turned to his inner death wish? His major statement today was that returning his gov’t would stop any future Labor government from overturning WorkChoices. He is telling voters to get rid of me now or live with it forever!!

Missing from polls is the number of callers refusing to talk by hanging up, not just uncommitted or refused to say which party they support. There’s also media’s focus on national rather than marginal seat polling that has Libs in front in some states.

Eden-Monaro poll is too small to tell us much - it is made up of three sub polls to try and capture the diverse character of the electorate. given the margins of error involved there may not have been any change between the two polls, or there might be.
