The Greens oppose the CPRS not because it is too weak, but because it will point Australia in the wrong direction with little prospect of turning it around in the timeframe within which emissions must peak, says Senator Christine Milne.

So Mark Latham thinks this is the Seinfeld campaign, a show about nothing? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe it’s the Dad’s Army campaign, with Peter Costello as Sergeant Wilson (”do you really think that’s wise sir?) to John Howard’s Captain Mainwaring? Oh yes. Philip Ruddock as Private Frazer (We’re doomed!), Alexander Downer for Private Walker, Malcolm Turnbull the whiny Private Pike (”stupid boy!”) and surely Brownyn Bishop would make a passable Private Godfrey, or perhaps that’s Gerard Henderson? Corporal Jones (”Don’t panic! Don’t panic Mr Mainwaring!”) would naturally be played by an aging Dennis Shanahan. The ALP campaign? Mork and Mindy of course, (”nanoo, nanoo”). But we’re getting a little carried away here. Sorry. Which is to say that we regret what you just read. Not aplogising for it mind, just wishing it away really. With regret. Sorry. Damn. Did it again. Sorry. Oh sh-t. |
