What do you make of the fact that in this Newspoll the Liberal Primary vote is actually DOWN 1%, Possum?
The Nats are up, but 30 of the 32 most marginal coalition seats are held by the Libs. If anything it looks like a bad poll for Howard to me.

That’s what I thought as well the Lib primary vote drops to 37%,not a good sign for the Coalition at all.

The Nat/ Lib vote ends up being a bit interchangeable in the polling, as many people in rural seats will answer “Liberal” when asked who they would vote for, even though their representative is a Nat.That’s why the Nat vote is underestimated in the polls.
