Reality is that the Christian community is growing faster than it ever has before. people need to realise that when thousands of people audition for something; whether its Aus Idol or spomething else; there is going to be many Christians amonst the group!

Of course it's incredibly suspicious. I think however, Hillsong will deny involvement on an official level. It's no doubt happening 'unofficially', kind of like a Hillsong Militia getting people to ring in and vote mostly by word of mouth

I'm a bit miffed about the huge number of Christian auditionees from the musical churches over the years that DIDN'T make the finals. Definitely suss.

It is cool to live in a country where freedom to chose religion is OK. Freedom to correctly critique is also cool. Hillsong are obviously big enough to smile at such vilification evidenced by their response. None of the contestants attend Hillsong.

Actually, two of the idols mentioned, Daniel and Tarisai are NOT members of Hillsongs congregation. Daniel and Tarisai attend Shire Live Church in Sutherland (which is nothing near Castle Hill). I know this because I attend this church myself.

Nasty rat? Hardly. They don't exactly look crazy to me. They look like a group young people who are obviously very talented, committed to high ideals who are having a good time doing something healthy. Goodness what is the world coming to?

TT offered nothing except 1/2 the contestants go to church - so what? More suspect is that the former Hillsong couple claimed to have been told to 'do stuff' by the church but TT never revealed what. Sloppy journalism or didn't the answer suit the bias?

It's still a little suss that 50% of the finalists are from Hillsong. I smell a big fat dirty RAT! But hey folks - that's life. It's just annoying that it brings all the crazy christians out of the woodwork!

Lou

It still amazes me that Christians remain the fairest game around for vilification in Australia. Substitute "Crazy Christian" for "Crazy Muslim" or "Crazy Buddhist Monk" and you get eyebrow raises. As for Idol. Do they care who spends money ringing??
