Pole dancing no obstacle to poll success: Morgan
|
Peter Beattie was right. Only 12% of voters are concerned over Kevin Rudd’s visit to a New York strip club, a Morgan Poll has found. A massive 87% are not concerned, and only one per cent don’t know. The poll finds that 74% - up two – approve of the way Krazy Kev is handling his job as leader of the opposition, the highest rating recorded by the Morgan Poll. Only 19% disapprove and two per cent were unable to say. In contrast, only 44% - down nine – approve of the job John Howard is doing as Prime Minister, the lowest level since his election in 1996. A majority of voters – 51% - disapprove while five per cent are undecided. Pole dancing is leading to poll success for the Labor leader, Morgan finds. Kevin Rudd may have gone to a strip club, but if a federal election was held now the Coalition benches would be left denuded. The ALP has a 20% two party preferred lead. Labor is on 60% - up 1.5 points – while the Coalition has dropped the same to 40%. Labor’s primary vote is no 51%, up 1.5, the Government is on 36%, down 0.5, the Greens have dropped the same amount to 7.5% and other parties and independents are down 1.5 points to 5.5%. This special telephone Morgan Poll was conducted on the nights 21/22 2007 with an Australia-wide cross section of 633 voters. |
